One of the major moves that the company did was to hire <strong>Linda Yaccarino</strong> as the social media giant’s new CEO. Linda was a former NBCUniversal marketing executive with a <strong>proven track record.</strong> Linda might just be the one to take the social media giant’s advertising woes back to a positive trend. This staggering loss immediately placed the company in a hole.<em> “It’s definitely been extremely difficult,” </em>Elon said in a livestream hosted by Robert F. Kennedy Jr last month. The billionaire added that it has been a<em> “huge struggle for Twitter to break even.”</em></p> <p>Like most social media platforms, it heavily<strong> relies on its advertisers</strong> to keep itself running. Hence the massive cost-cutting moves last year just to keep Twitter’s head above water. Aside from the cost-cutting move that Elon did, he also added measures to <strong>seek more cash flow</strong> by adding the Twitter Blue membership that adds a check mark next to your profile.  This subscription service is meant to give you “elevated access” to some features that are not available to regular users.</p> <h2>Meta enters the scene</h2> <p>Things got even worse for Elon after its rival app, Meta Threads released what seems to be a Twitter clone with a few adjustments to it. One of these adjustments were to keep it a<strong> “friendlier”</strong> space by de-emphasizing news and politics. The app has reached over 100 million downloads on its first week.</p> <p>The social media giant also announced last Thursday that it now<strong> allows content creators</strong> to get a slice of the site’s ad revenue. More like what its major competitors are doing by enticing content creators to join the site. Eligibility starts after the content creator reaches at least 5 million impressions on their posts. Unlike its competitors,for a content creator to start making money, they also need to subscribe to Twitter Blue.
